Literacy and Math Tutoring Services

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board is seeking literacy and math tutoring services through the Steve Carter Tutoring Initiative. The agency needs to provide students with solid foundational math knowledge and skills to prepare them for success in Algebra and future college and career paths. Families will choose approved providers directly from the initiative to receive these tutoring services. For literacy instruction, tutors must support students in concepts of print, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, syntax, and fluency in a logical and transparent progression. To accelerate students in grades four through twelve, the tutoring must focus on helping students access complex, current grade-level texts by building knowledge, vocabulary, or foundational skills. For kindergarten through twelfth-grade math, the tutoring must build toward readiness for grade-level or course-level content through an accelerating learning instructional approach. Math tutoring must focus on supporting students in accessing grade-level or course-level mathematics by building skills in prior-knowledge standards for the specific units or topics they are learning in their regular math classes. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency requires all performance of the tutoring work to occur offsite.
