Mobile Computer Aided Dispatch Agents Service for Fire Department Vehicles

The government authority in British Columbia is seeking the supply, installation, and commissioning of mobile Computer-Aided Dispatch agents for four fire department vehicles. This project aims to modernize emergency response capabilities through rugged hardware and integrated software solutions. The agency requires hardware including rugged tablets or mobile data terminals, vehicle-rated mounts, wiring, power conditioning, and necessary connectivity equipment such as antennas and modems. The scope of work encompasses mobile CAD agent licenses for four vehicles that must integrate with the Regional District’s existing CAD system. Software requirements include NG911-compatible data exchange, AVL/GPS mapping, secure authentication, and encrypted communications. The selected vendor must perform installation in the four vehicles, configure the systems to dispatch specifications, and conduct testing and validation with the dispatch center. The agency requires comprehensive training and documentation, including end-user training for firefighters and administrator training for IT management. Support and maintenance provisions must cover hardware warranties, software update schedules, and defined service-level expectations for outages or failures. Performance of the work will occur offsite, though the equipment must be installed and validated within the specific fire department vehicles. Eligibility is restricted to onshore Canadian organizations only. The agency has not provided a fixed budget and is looking for proposals to determine costs.
