Motivational Interviewing Services

The government authority located in Albany, New York is seeking motivational interviewing services to support the development of a skilled, resilient workforce. This training aims to enhance staff skills in engaging individuals who are at high risk of involvement in gun violence, aligning with broader public safety and community well-being goals. The agency requires a collaborative, person-centered counseling method that strengthens an individual's own motivation and commitment to change. The scope of work covers planning, training, technical assistance, a train-the-trainer component, and follow-up training to ensure a select group of clinicians can implement the model. The selected provider must develop a culturally competent Motivational Interviewing Student Course consisting of two consecutive eight-hour days, totaling fourteen instructional hours. The agency requires the delivery of interactive, in-person training sessions that emphasize skill-building through demonstrations, role-playing, and guided practice. The project also requires post-training technical assistance, skill reinforcement, and the development of a Motivational Interviewing Champion Program curriculum. This champion program must include a virtual train-the-trainer component to establish internal expertise. Performance of all contract work will take place offsite. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this initiative.
