Home Composting Education Program Services

The City of Chula Vista, California is seeking a vendor to provide home composting education program services to agency residents. The agency aims to promote home composting by offering public workshops, master composter training, and discounted compost bin sales. This initiative will help reduce organic waste and educate the community on sustainable waste management practices. The selected vendor must host and teach weekly weekend backyard compost workshops for local attendees. To promote these workshops, the vendor must create two social media posts per week on its own platforms and collaborate online with the agency. Additionally, the vendor will manage the storage and distribution of discounted compost bins to residents who attend the workshops or the master composter training courses. The scope of work also requires the vendor to schedule and host master composter training courses for up to thirty students per course. To support these students, the vendor must create and manage networking opportunities, including an email listserv, a Facebook account, and a resource list. Finally, the vendor must coordinate, plan, and schedule compost education outreach activities within local schools. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based in the United States. All contracted work must be performed onsite within the local agency jurisdiction. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget for this initiative, and the resulting contract will span a three-year period. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 4, 2026. The agency will evaluate proposals based on the bidder's ability to fulfill the educational, logistical, and outreach requirements outlined in the scope of work.
