The agency is attempting to solve congestion and safety issues by widening 37th Street by approximately eight feet between two intersections to accommodate an 11-foot left turn bay and two 11-foot through lanes. The project also aims to modernize traffic infrastructure and pedestrian access across a broader corridor. The scope of work requires the selected contractor to design the street widening, provide an 11-foot left turn lane with two 11-foot through lanes at the intersection, and implement protected-only left turn phasing at the modified intersections.
