Voluntary Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Plan Services

The Sacramento municipal government is seeking a vendor to provide voluntary accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity plan services. The agency needs to offer flexible and competitive insurance options that include coverage for employees and their eligible dependents. This coverage must encompass major diseases and conditions, such as cancer, cardiovascular conditions, and infectious diseases, without reducing benefits due to age. The selected provider must ensure all plans comply with applicable federal and state laws, including HIPAA. The scope of work requires the vendor to handle all enrollment and claims processing, as well as provide an online platform for subscribers to access plan benefits, premium costs, claims data, and customer support. The vendor must cover all printing and mailing costs, as the agency requires all reports, enrollment materials, and marketing support to be provided at no cost to the city. The agency reserves the right to review all printed materials prior to their distribution. Additionally, the insurance plans must be portable for life without requiring evidence of insurability. Eligible bidders must perform the work onsite within the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget, and the resulting contract period will last for one year.
