Towing Services

The City of Stamford, Connecticut requires a towing operator to provide vehicle towing and release services for the local government authority. The selected operator must remain on call for twenty-four-hour periods as determined by the Police Department. To ensure vehicle owners can retrieve their property, the operator must post a telephone number at the designated storage area to arrange vehicle releases whenever staff is not physically present. The scope of work demands that the operator perform all towing services with reasonable care to prevent any damage to the towed vehicles. The operator must possess specific equipment, including at least two flat-bed trucks with a minimum gross vehicle weight rating of 17,500 pounds and one boom tow truck equipped with a tow bar or wheel lift. All operations and services must take place onsite within the local jurisdiction. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States.
