Principal Apprenticeship Mentor Training and Support Services

The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development in Juneau, Alaska is seeking a contractor to provide principal apprenticeship mentor training and support services. The agency is trying to solve the problem of developing and supporting effective principal mentors across school districts, as well as addressing teacher retention challenges. The selected contractor will deliver a high-quality, fifteen-hour evidence-based or best-practice training program to up to eight principal mentors, equipping them with tools and resources for effective mentoring. The scope of work also requires the contractor to deliver four hours of training on teacher retention strategies for leaders, utilizing the agency's own developed retention strategies training as the foundation. Additionally, the contractor must provide direct mentor services to districts that lack qualified in-district mentors. The contract period will run for one year, and all performance of the work will take place offsite. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is looking for proposals to define the cost. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 8, 2026.
