Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services

The City of Stamford, Connecticut, is seeking a materials testing and special inspection firm to provide quality assurance for an upcoming construction project. The agency requires these services to ensure the building meets the original design intent of the owner and complies with all applicable codes. The selected firm will recommend additional testing and inspection strategies to optimize project compliance throughout the construction process. The scope of work includes performing site visits to observe building components, system installations, and pertinent mock-ups. The firm must develop field reports for all site visits and attend selected planning and job-site meetings to track construction progress. Additionally, the firm will review construction meeting minutes for any revisions or substitutions relating to the owner's design intent. While the firm may assist with problem-solving and resolving non-conformance or deficiencies, the ultimate responsibility for resolution resides with the construction manager at risk and the design team. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget for these services.
