The government authority in Laramie, Wyoming, requires an appliance combination system designed for fire safety and energy management. The agency seeks to mitigate fire risks and false alarms caused by careless cooking through specific hardware integrations. The project covers the delivery of units featuring internal, tamper-proof smoke sensors that automatically shut down the microwave upon detecting smoke. The requested units must utilize technology that limits maximum electrical draw to 11 amps by automatically powering down the refrigerator and charging station when the microwave is active. The design requires a single-plug-to-the-wall configuration where the refrigerator connects directly to the microwave. The microwave itself must maintain a 9-amp power limit to prevent surges and protect internal wiring. The hardware specifications include a front-facing charging station equipped with two USB ports and one three-prong outlet. The agency requires the entire combination unit to be UL-listed as both a single unit and a combination appliance. The contract period spans one year, and all work performance occurs offsite. Eligibility is restricted to onshore vendors located within the United States. The agency is currently seeking proposals to determine the budget for this procurement.
