Specialized School Nursing Services

The Dougherty County School System in Albany, Georgia is seeking a vendor to provide specialized school nursing services for students who are medically fragile or have complex medical conditions. The agency needs to ensure these students can safely access educational services during the school day and during transportation to and from school. The selected provider must deliver skilled nursing care and medically prescribed interventions in accordance with physician orders, Individualized Education Programs, and Individualized Healthcare Plans. The scope of work requires the administration of interventions such as tube feeding, catheterization, respiratory care, oxygen administration, ventilator support, tracheostomy care, medication administration, and seizure monitoring. Staff must accompany students during school transportation when medically required, maintain accurate daily nursing logs, and collaborate with parents, school personnel, and physicians. Additionally, the provider must train designated school personnel on medical procedures, participate in student staffing meetings, and supply substitute nursing personnel when regularly assigned staff are absent. Eligible bidders must perform all work onshore within the United States, though the physical performance of the contract will occur offsite from the primary vendor location at the local schools. The agency is requesting budget proposals from bidders to determine the cost of these services. The contract period will span one year, and bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 1, 2026.
