The agency needs to solve its ongoing logistical requirements for various trips by securing a reliable fleet of well-maintained motor coaches, school buses, activity buses, mini-buses, and other passenger vehicles. This one-year contract requires the selected provider to deliver safe, coordinated transport for local excursions and long-distance travel. The scope of work covers vehicle provisioning, driver staffing, and trip coordination. Bidders must supply qualified, licensed drivers possessing valid commercial driver's licenses with passenger and school bus endorsements, current medical certifications, and clean driving records. The selected vendor must respond to trip requests within two business days during the academic year and within three business days during the summer. The agency also requires a primary point of contact available from at least 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, to manage scheduling and communication. Vehicles must match the passenger count and trip distance, and they must feature functioning safety equipment such as seat belts, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and communication devices. The agency requires specific cancellation terms, allowing penalty-free cancellations more than five business days before departure. Cancellations made between two and five days prior may incur a maximum 25 percent fee, while those made less than two days prior are capped at a 50 percent fee. Eligibility is restricted to onshore entities operating within the United States, and the performance of all transportation work must occur onsite in Michigan.
