Towing Services

The Sheriff's Office in Oregon is seeking a contractor to provide safe, courteous, and respectful towing services. The agency needs to ensure that dispatch operations run smoothly, requiring tow drivers to carry company identification and to update their status to "In Tow" through the dispatch system once a vehicle is loaded and departs. The agency also requires the ability to cancel dispatch requests for any reason up to the point of hook-up, and may request that contractors move cars off the road at emergencies and congestion scenes at no charge as a public service. The scope of work covers towing services within authorized tow classes and tow zones, requiring the contractor to maintain equipment to tow at a minimum Class A vehicles, motorcycles, and small boat and utility trailers. The contractor may subcontract with outside organizations for extraordinary equipment and services, such as air bags, cranes, and hazardous material clean-up, to remove hazards and complete complex tows. Performance of all work must take place onsite in Oregon. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States. The agency is establishing a contract period of one year. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is currently looking for proposals to determine the cost of these services.
