Geotechnical Services

The City of Ames, Iowa, is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive geotechnical services. The agency requires these services to support local engineering and construction projects by assessing subsurface soil and site conditions. Performance of all requested work must take place onsite at the designated locations within the municipality. The scope of work covers mobilization and demobilization, utility soft-dig or ground-penetrating radar clearance, and surveying tests. The selected contractor must provide a full-time onsite soils technician or engineer during all drilling activities. Additional required technical tasks include seismic survey testing, electrical resistivity testing, soil borings, infiltration testing, bulk sampling, undisturbed soil sampling using Shelby tubes, and grouting. Only organizations based onshore within the United States are eligible to submit proposals for this opportunity. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget and has not disclosed a specific funding limit. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this procurement no later than June 15, 2026.
