Tower Maintenance Service

The Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, Iowa, is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive tower maintenance services for its critical communications infrastructure. This infrastructure includes multiple full-power broadcast television stations and agency communication towers. The agency needs to ensure the continuous operation and structural integrity of these towers, their associated transmitter buildings, and the surrounding site grounds. The scope of work covers the maintenance of broadcast towers of various heights and constructions, along with their primary broadcast antennas, receive antennas, and auxiliary systems. The selected vendor must maintain transmitter buildings housing primary and backup transmitters, power distribution systems, and monitoring equipment. Maintenance responsibilities also extend to transmission lines, power infrastructure including backup generators and automatic transfer switches, and site grounds such as access roads and security fencing. Eligible bidders must perform all contract work within the United States, as the agency restricts this opportunity to onshore vendors only. The agency is requesting detailed cost proposals from interested bidders to establish the budget for these services. The contract will span a performance period of one year, with all work to be executed offsite.
