Airport Design Services

The City of Athens, Texas, is seeking a qualified US-based organization to provide comprehensive airport design services. The municipal authority requires these professional services to support a wide range of infrastructure development, rehabilitation, and expansion projects at the local airport. The selected provider must perform all contracted work onsite at the Athens facility. The scope of work covers land acquisition assistance, surveying, and project cost estimating. Structural and civil engineering requirements include the design and construction of runways, access roadways, access taxiways, and taxi-lanes. The agency also requires design services for the rehabilitation or reconstruction of existing pavement, hangar development, and terminal renovations, construction, or expansion. Additional technical requirements span the design of fuel tanks and fuel farm systems, drainage improvements, and airport perimeter fencing with access gates. The selected vendor must also design electrical system upgrades and improvements to the automated weather observing system. The agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget for these services. Eligible bidders must be US organizations.
