Construction Management Services

The City of Lakewood, California, is seeking a qualified vendor to provide on-call construction management services for municipal projects. The agency requires comprehensive management support across both the pre-construction and construction phases of its upcoming projects. The selected contractor will solve the agency's need for external oversight, quality control, and administrative management of its construction contractors. The scope of work for the pre-construction phase includes conducting kick-off meetings, performing constructability reviews, managing contractor prequalification, and assisting with equipment procurement. The provider must also handle specification development, facilitate pre-construction and scheduling meetings, and establish a quality assurance and quality control plan. During the active construction phase, the agency requires the vendor to manage weekly progress meetings, handle project correspondence, and maintain an electronic document control system. Additional construction-phase duties include reviewing submittals and schedules, managing changes and claims, performing inspections, conducting materials testing and specialty inspections, surveying, and managing the schedule of values. The agency has not disclosed a set budget and is looking for competitive cost proposals from interested bidders.
