Transit New Rider Education and Travel Training Plan Services

The Suffolk County government authority in Yaphank, New York, is seeking a vendor to develop a transit new rider education and travel training plan. The agency is trying to solve the problem of public transit appearing daunting to new and returning riders due to a recent county-wide bus route re-alignment and the introduction of mobile ticketing, app-based ride planning, and on-demand services. The goal of this study is to make it easier for diverse populations throughout the county to choose public transit for their travel needs. The scope of work covers project management and coordination, a literature and best practices review, and the development of the travel training plan. The plan must target several key demographic groups, including high school students, seniors, veterans, tourists, visitors, people with physical disabilities, and people with intellectual disabilities. The selected vendor will perform all work offsite over a contract period of two years. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget and will accept digital submissions via email or online. A non-mandatory proposer conference is scheduled for June 2, 2026, and bidders must submit all questions no later than June 3, 2026.
