Mental Health Awareness Training Services

The Metrolinx transit environment in Ontario involves constant interaction with the public and frequent encounters with individuals experiencing acute mental health crises, suicidal ideation, and significant emotional distress. To address these challenges, the agency is seeking a licensed professional to provide mental health awareness, crisis intervention awareness, and self-care awareness training to its special constable service and revenue protection personnel. This training aims to enhance the officers' ability to recognize and respond to these situations with professionalism, empathy, and clinical insight while strengthening their own well-being by addressing personal trigger awareness, compassion fatigue, and resilience-building. The scope of work requires the delivery of an in-person recertification and refresher training program for special constables, provincial offences officers, and protective services guards. Each in-person session must be delivered by one qualified instructor for a class size of up to twenty-five participants and must not exceed a three-business-day training period. The curriculum must also enable participants to assess their own levels of stress and identify appropriate support resources. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations located in Canada. The agency requires the performance of the work to be conducted offsite, and bidders must submit their proposals digitally via email or online. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is looking for proposals to determine the cost of these services.
