Youth and Young Adult Library Materials for Correctional Education Libraries Services

The Maryland state government is seeking a vendor to provide youth and young adult print library materials for its correctional education libraries services. The agency needs to increase access to developmentally appropriate reading materials for eligible students under the age of twenty-one. This initiative aims to improve student engagement with library services and independent reading, while supporting measurable gains in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and literacy fluency. The scope of work requires the equitable distribution of supplemental resources across twelve correctional education library sites. The agency requires strict fiscal accountability to be maintained through site-level Do Not Exceed budget controls. All work must be performed offsite at the vendor's own office location. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project.
