Demolition Services

The City of Edgewood, Kentucky is seeking a contractor to provide demolition services for a single-story school building constructed with slab on grade and a flat rubber membrane roof. The agency needs to remove the building, its slab on grade, and its footers, disposing of all materials offsite. Following the demolition, the contractor must construct a temporary parking lot over the building's footprint. The scope of work also requires the removal and disposal of a flag pole, two light poles, bollards, a wooden storage shed, and all mechanical equipment, including air conditioning and refrigeration units. The agency will drain and dispose of all refrigerants associated with the HVAC system prior to the demolition. Additionally, the contractor must install a crushed stone pad for the placement of a new, owner-provided shed that matches the size of the existing, remaining metal shed. The project further entails the removal of two inground fuel oil tanks, piping, and associated equipment. The contractor must fill the resulting void with stone and dense grade aggregate, then cover it with asphalt to match the thickness of the existing parking lot. To prevent soil erosion, the agency requires all disturbed areas outside of the building footprint to be top dressed with topsoil, seeded, and strawed. The contract period will span one year, and performance of the work must take place onsite. Only United States organizations are eligible to bid on this opportunity.
