Demolition Services

The City of Edgewood, Kentucky is seeking a contractor to provide demolition services for a single-story school building constructed with slab on grade and a flat rubber membrane roof. The agency needs to solve the problem of removing this structure, its slab on grade, and its footers, all of which must be disposed of offsite. Following the demolition, the project requires the construction of a temporary parking lot over the footprint of the demolished building. The scope of work also covers the removal of a flag pole, two light poles, bollards, and a wooden storage shed. The selected contractor must install a crushed stone pad for the placement of a new, owner-provided shed that matches the size of the existing, remaining metal shed. Additionally, all mechanical equipment, including air conditioning and refrigeration units, must be removed and disposed of properly, though the agency will drain and dispose of all refrigerants prior to demolition. The project further requires the removal of two inground fuel oil tanks, piping, and associated equipment. The contractor must fill the void of the removed tanks with stone and dense grade aggregate, then cover it with asphalt to match the thickness of the existing parking lot. To prevent soil erosion, all disturbed areas outside of the building footprint must be top dressed with top soil, seeded, and covered with straw. The agency has established a contract period of one year for this project. Eligible bidders must be onshore United States organizations, and the performance of the work must take place onsite in Edgewood, Kentucky. Bidders may submit their responses digitally via email or online, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is scheduled for June 12, 2026.
