The Rhode Island State Police, a government authority located in North Scituate, Rhode Island, is seeking a public accounting firm or accountant to audit its financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The agency is offering an option for a four-year extension to cover the fiscal years ending June 30, 2027, June 30, 2028, June 30, 2029, and June 30, 2030. The selected auditor must express an opinion on the fair presentation of the agency's financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles. The scope of work covers government-wide financial statements, fund financial statements, and notes to the financial statements. The auditor must perform limited procedures required by generally accepted auditing standards on mandated supplementary information, including the management's discussion and analysis, the schedule of revenues, expenditures, and changes in fund balance for budget and actual, and schedules related to defined benefit pension plans and OPEB plans. The agency also desires an in-relation-to opinion on the supplementary financial statements and schedules based on the auditing procedures applied during the basic financial statement audit. Eligible bidders must be onshore United States organizations. The agency requires the performance of the auditing work to be completed offsite. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget and requires all questions regarding this opportunity to be submitted no later than June 12, 2026.
