Financial Audit Service

The Bexar Appraisal District in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a qualified vendor to perform a comprehensive financial audit service. The agency needs to determine and obtain an independent opinion on whether its financial statements fairly present the financial position of the district as of December 31, 2026. Additionally, the agency requires an evaluation and opinion on whether its internal systems for investments, accounts payable processing, payroll, cash receipts processing, contractual liabilities, and fixed assets comply with appropriate accounting and control standards. The selected auditor must require all personnel to adhere strictly to the independence rules, regulations, interpretations, and rulings of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Throughout the engagement, the auditor will report directly to the finance director and provide continual updates regarding the progress of the audit. The auditor must also promptly report to the chief appraiser any conditions, transactions, situations, or circumstances that could impede the audit or warrant a special investigation. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is requesting budget proposals from interested parties. Only onshore vendors located in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency expects the performance of the audit work to occur offsite.
