The Rhode Island State Police, a government authority located in North Scituate, Rhode Island, is seeking a public accounting firm or accountant to audit its financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The agency is offering an option for a four-year extension covering the fiscal years ending June 30, 2027, June 30, 2028, June 30, 2029, and June 30, 2030. The selected auditor must express an opinion on the fair presentation of the agency financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles. The scope of work covers government-wide financial statements, fund financial statements, and notes to the financial statements. The auditor must perform limited procedures required by generally accepted auditing standards on mandated supplementary information, including the management discussion and analysis, the schedule of revenues, expenditures, and changes in fund balance, and schedules related to defined benefit pension and other post-employment benefits plans. The agency also requires an in-relation-to opinion on the supplementary financial statements and schedules based on the auditing procedures applied during the basic audit. Eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency requires the performance of all work to take place offsite. Bidders must submit any questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 12, 2026, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget.
