Scanning Electron Microscope Supplies

The State University of New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University is seeking a vendor to provide scanning electron microscope supplies to its facility in Alfred, NY. The agency requires these supplies to characterize microstructures, fracture surfaces, powders, and elemental compositions of materials. The requested equipment must feature a Schottky field emission gun electron source, specific accelerating voltage and beam current ranges, and high-vacuum and low-vacuum or variable pressure resolution modes. The scope of work covers imaging and detectors including a backscattered electron detector, a stage with specific travel and tilt ranges, and a vacuum system with defined column vacuum levels and variable pressure or low-vacuum ranges. The agency is also requesting optional Electron Backscatter Diffraction capabilities to aid in grain size analysis, phase analysis, and determining grain orientation texturing of material samples. All performance of the work will take place offsite. Only organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency is currently looking for proposals and has not disclosed a specific budget. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this procurement no later than June 22, 2026.
