The Clarke County Public Schools administration in Berryville, Virginia, is seeking a qualified architectural firm to develop bid-ready construction documents for two breezeway projects at Boyce Elementary School. The agency needs to solve the problem of disconnected and outdated walkways to ensure safe, climate-controlled, and secure transitions for students and staff. The selected architect will collaborate with the school administration team to design a new brick breezeway connecting the doors near the gymnasium to the doors directly across from them. The scope of work also requires the architect to design revisions for an existing breezeway that connects a small pre-kindergarten cottage on the far western side of the main building. The architect must develop comprehensive specifications and drawings incorporating single or double door locations, matching brick aesthetics, window styles, locking mechanisms, fire suppression, HVAC systems, roofing, flooring, and full ADA compliance. Only onshore organizations based in the United States are eligible to submit proposals for this opportunity. The agency is currently looking for budget proposals from interested bidders and has not disclosed a pre-determined funding limit. A non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2026, to address questions regarding the project specifications.
