Paratransit Transportation Service

The Alamo Area Council of Governments in San Antonio, Texas, is seeking a vendor to provide safe, reliable, and customer-focused Americans with Disabilities Act complementary paratransit transportation services. The agency needs to serve individuals with disabilities who are unable to use the standard fixed-route transit system for some or all of their trips. This initiative aims to maintain service continuity while minimizing missed trips, late arrivals, and general customer inconvenience. The scope of work covers operating the paratransit service, maintaining a sufficient vehicle fleet, and providing adequate staffing, supervision, training, and maintenance resources. The selected provider must equip every transport vehicle with a digital closed-circuit television monitoring and recording system that includes playback software capable of normal, frame-by-frame, and fast-speed viewing. Additionally, the agency requires support for technology, communications, data management, regulatory reporting, National Transit Database reporting, complaint investigations, audits, and performance monitoring. Eligibility is restricted to organizations based in the United States. The agency allows the performance of the work to occur either onsite or offsite depending on the specific task. The contract period will span five years, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget. The agency will host a pre-proposal conference on June 25, 2026, to discuss the project requirements. Bidders must submit all questions regarding the opportunity no later than July 02, 2026.
