International and Education Abroad Insurance Services

The University of Mary Washington, a government authority located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is seeking a qualified firm to provide international and education abroad insurance services. The agency requires insurance and claims providers for both inbound international participants and outbound education abroad program participants. Bidders may propose coverage for one or both of these participant groups, provided they have demonstrated experience delivering these services to institutions of higher education. The scope of work for all insured individuals covers cost, age limitations, pre-existing conditions, prescription drug coverage, athletic injuries, and dental coverage. The selected provider must also manage customer support, claims processing, premium structures, proration of coverage, reporting requirements, policy updates, regulatory compliance, and reporting samples. For inbound international participants, the agency requires coverage for F-1 students, J-1 visa compliance, and domestic plan options. Outbound education abroad coverage must include core coverage, specified minimum coverage levels, payment methods, and enrollment flexibility. Only United States organizations are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The selected contractor will perform all work offsite. The agency is looking for budget proposals to define the cost of these services. The contract period will span one year.
