Vehicle Towing Services

The Montgomery County government authority located in Rockville, Maryland is seeking a contractor to provide professional vehicle towing services. The agency needs to solve the problem of clearing vehicles from its Processing Facility and Transfer Station quickly to maintain efficient operations. The selected contractor must remove designated vehicles within two hours of receiving a request from the agency. The scope of work covers towing a wide range of vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks such as trash trucks up to twenty-five cubic yards. Vehicles are classified into three categories, including light duty up to 14,000 gross vehicle weight rating, medium duty from 14,001 to 26,000 gross vehicle weight rating, and heavy duty over 26,000 gross vehicle weight rating. The contractor must determine the necessary equipment for each tow, which the county requestor will confirm and accept prior to dispatch. The contractor must provide storage facility information indicating where the towed vehicles will be taken, along with any recovery fees that will be charged to the vehicle owners. Eligible bidders must perform all work onsite and be located onshore within the United States. The agency is requesting proposals to determine the budget and will award a contract with a performance period of one year.
