The issuing government authority in Virginia is seeking construction services to convert the existing unsignalized intersection of Route 50 and Drive into a single-lane roundabout. The agency is trying to solve traffic flow and safety issues by realigning and widening roadway approaches as needed to facilitate operations. The project covers storm sewer and drainage upgrades, pedestrian facilities, roadway signing, pavement marking, and the implementation of a multi-phase traffic management plan. The scope of work also includes surveying, construction layout, maintenance of traffic, earthwork, the removal of unsuitable material, rock excavation, erosion and sediment control, environmental controls, and safety procedures. The selected contractor must ensure full compliance with all applicable permits, including Virginia Stormwater Management Program and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan requirements.
