Fish Access Area Vegetation Control Service

The agency is seeking vegetation control services for nine separate fishing and boating areas located in Ottawa, Erie, Lucas, and Sandusky Counties, Ohio. This project aims to manage both broadleaf and woody vegetation adjacent to public water bodies, requiring herbicides approved for aquatic applications. The work will involve two rounds of spraying, with the first application scheduled for mid to late May during the active growing season. The scope of work includes providing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to perform the vegetation control. Bidders must account for both broadleaf and woody vegetation types and use only approved herbicides. Any damages to adjoining properties will result in contract termination and the contractor will be solely responsible for repair or replacement costs. The contractor must provide a list of proposed herbicides by site to the area manager, Mike Wilkerson, prior to each application. One area requires access through private property, necessitating notification of the property owner before application. Proper signage may be required to indicate spraying is in progress. Aerial photos are provided to designate the exact locations requiring spraying, marked by yellow lines. Some areas may require the use of small off-road vehicles with spray tanks or hand-held spraying devices for access and treatment.
