Food Program Services

The Beaufort County government authority in Beaufort, South Carolina is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive food program services. The agency needs to solve the logistical challenge of preparing and serving nutritious, wholesome, and palatable meals and special diets to inmates, staff, and designated visitors. The selected provider must manage a civilian and inmate kitchen staff to prepare pre-plated meals for service on thermal insulated trays. The scope of work covers serving meals three times during each twenty-four hour period, seven days per week, based on a twenty-eight day cycle menu. The agency requires all meals to be served at the proper temperature, with no more than fourteen hours elapsing between the evening meal and breakfast. The contractor must serve the exact same food and beverage items to all inmates at any given meal. Bidders must perform all work onsite and must be located onshore within the United States. The agency is requesting proposals to determine the budget and will establish a contract period of one year. Interested parties must attend a pre-bid meeting scheduled for June 2, 2026.
