Tower Maintenance Service

The Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, Iowa, is seeking a qualified contractor to provide tower maintenance services for its critical communications infrastructure. This infrastructure includes multiple full-power broadcast television stations and agency communication towers. The agency needs to ensure the continuous operation and structural integrity of these towers, transmitter buildings, antenna systems, transmission lines, and associated power infrastructure. The scope of work covers the maintenance of broadcast towers of various heights, transmitter shelters housing primary and backup equipment, and coaxial or waveguide transmission lines. The selected contractor will also maintain power infrastructure including utility connections, automatic transfer switches, backup generators, fuel systems, and grounding, as well as site grounds, access roads, fencing, and security systems. All maintenance work will be performed offsite. The agency is issuing a contract for a period of one year. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States.
