Microfiche Digitization System

The agency is seeking a contractor to provide a production-grade microfiche digitization system. The required system must feature high-speed scanning capability of up to approximately 200 images per minute and an optical resolution range of 100 to 600 dpi. It must also include a dual-camera scanning system with intelligent pre-scan functionality and both automated and manual microfiche loading capabilities. The requested hardware must feature an input hopper capacity of approximately 75 microfiches at a time and compatibility with multiple fiche formats, including simplex, duplex, COM, and aperture cards. The system must provide image enhancement features such as cropping, de-skewing, rotation, inversion, and mirroring, alongside automatic gain control for real-time image quality optimization. Additionally, the agency requires dual output capability for simultaneous grayscale and bitonal images. The procurement includes FastFiche scanning software or an equivalent for scan capture and workflow control, as well as Quantum Process or equivalent image processing software. The system must also feature optical character recognition software capable of full-text recognition, title bar recognition, and automated indexing. Bidders must perform all work offsite and must be located onshore within the United States. The agency accepts digital submissions via email or online and is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget.
