The agency is seeking a vendor to provide library software that delivers federated or integrated searching through a familiar, Internet-type visual interface. This system must allow a single inquiry across subscription databases, the Internet, and the library catalog while providing twenty-four-seven access to the Online Public Access Catalog. The software must enable system-wide inventory data to locate and share resources, as well as route interlibrary loan requests directly through the automation system. The agency requires the system to be user-friendly for average trained library staff and easily explainable to average library patrons. The search functionality must support user-friendly access by author, title, key words, subject, call number, and series, with the ability to easily use Boolean search techniques. Users must also be able to search all bibliographic records using standard parameters including author, title, subject, call number, and barcode number. The software must utilize a search hierarchy that allows searches first at the host location and then expands to the entire system. The system must support user single sign-on capability via SAML 2.0 and be compatible with Edge, Safari, and Google Chrome, as well as Windows, Macintosh, and iOS endpoints. Only onshore organizations based in the United States of America are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency expects the performance of the work to be conducted offsite. Bidders must submit their responses digitally via email or online, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget.
