Gateway Signs Electrification Service

The City of San Jose is seeking a qualified contractor to provide electrical services to illuminate existing neighborhood gateway signs. The agency needs to solve the issue of unlit community signage by establishing dedicated electrical connections at these locations. The scope of work covers demolition, trenching, and backfilling for the installation of electrical conduit, as well as the installation and termination of conductors. The project also requires the restoration of surface improvements, including enhanced concrete pavement, asphalt, traffic striping, and signage. Bidders must implement temporary traffic control and minor water pollution control plan best management practices during construction. All performance of the work must occur offsite at the designated sign locations. Only onshore organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on June 11, 2026. Bidders must submit all questions regarding the solicitation no later than July 2, 2026.
