Bus Video Surveillance Service

The City of Fargo, North Dakota, requires a comprehensive transit vehicle surveillance system to support a mixed fleet of existing and newly installed onboard video surveillance equipment. The agency is trying to solve the problem of managing obsolete hardware by replacing outdated systems and integrating all new equipment with their existing Safe Fleet NH16V2 systems, Nexus cloud services, and Commander video management software. This project aims to establish a centralized management system for health monitoring, video retrieval, evidence management, and live streaming. The scope of work covers the removal and disposal of obsolete surveillance equipment, followed by the installation, configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of all new onboard systems. The agency requires the installation of fifty-six rear exterior side cameras with a minimum of five-megapixel resolution and infrared day/night capability, twenty-eight rear-facing reverse cameras, and twenty-eight rear vision LCD monitors. The selected provider must also install and terminate all required cabling, connectors, mounting hardware, and antennas, while coordinating with agency staff to minimize vehicle downtime. Additionally, the project requires integrating the onboard infotainment system to display live camera views on infotainment monitors and providing training for agency staff on operation, diagnostics, and video retrieval procedures. Eligible bidders must perform all work onsite in Fargo, North Dakota, and must be located onshore within the United States. The agency will evaluate proposals based on the bidder's ability to meet all technical specifications, including full compatibility with Commander enterprise video management software and Nexus cloud services. The contract period will run for one year, and the agency is currently seeking budget proposals for the project.
