The agency is seeking a vehicle data service to support cyber security and digital solutions. The agency requires a solution that returns the make, model, and model year of a vehicle when queried with a valid Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The selected vendor must provide comprehensive API documentation, including field definitions, data schemas, error codes, and integration guidance. The agency needs the database to be updated at least monthly with new VIN information sourced from reputable industry datasets. The database must cover all vehicles sold or imported into the North American market, including cars, trucks with gross vehicle weight ratings of one through three, commercial trailers, and motorcycles. When queried with an invalid VIN, the solution must detect the error, indicate whether the issue lies with the check digit or another digit, and specify which digit is incorrect if the check digit itself is valid. Only organizations based in Canada are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The selected vendor will perform all work offsite. The agency is currently looking for proposals to determine the budget for this project. The resulting contract will span a period of two years.
