Network Maintenance Services

The City of Kamloops, British Columbia, is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive network maintenance services for its government authority. The agency needs to address ongoing operational demands, emergency situations, and expansion requirements for its fibre-optic infrastructure. The selected partner will resolve critical infrastructure vulnerabilities through rapid emergency repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance. The scope of work covers fibre-optic maintenance, restoration, and emergency repair of damaged fibre-optic cable using fusion splicing and approved temporary mechanical splicing. The designated contractor will perform fibre-optic installations, outside plant underground or aerial construction, and inside plant building entry, riser, and termination work. Additional responsibilities include fibre termination, testing, certification, network extensions, ring creation, and coordination with city staff, stakeholders, and third parties. The agency restricts eligibility to Canadian organizations, and the contractor will perform the required work offsite. The initial contract period will run for one year. While the agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is looking for proposals to define the cost, all clarification questions must be submitted no later than June 16, 2026.
