Food Program Services

The Beaufort County government authority in Beaufort, South Carolina is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive food program services. The agency needs to solve the logistical challenge of feeding inmates, staff, and designated visitors with nutritious, wholesome, and palatable meals and special diets. The selected contractor must manage a civilian and inmate kitchen staff to prepare pre-plated meals served on thermal insulated trays. The scope of work requires serving meals from a twenty-eight day cycle menu at the proper temperature. The contractor must provide these food services three times during each twenty-four hour period, seven days per week, ensuring no more than fourteen hours elapse between the evening meal and breakfast. The agency requires the contractor to serve the exact same food and beverage items to all inmates at any given meal. The contract period will run for one year, and the performance of all work must take place onsite. Eligible bidders must be located onshore within the United States. The agency is looking for budget proposals to determine the cost of the contract, and representatives must attend a pre-bid meeting scheduled for June 2, 2026.
