Slot-Die Coating System

The government authority located in Troy, Alabama is seeking a vendor to provide a slot-die coating system. The agency needs this system to prepare controlled solution-processed thin films for teaching and research in electronic materials, flexible electronics, sensors, photodetectors, energy-harvesting devices, batteries, and photovoltaic devices. The system will allow researchers to coat thin films on rigid and flexible substrates, including glass, and to study the effects of coating speed, flow rate, coating width, substrate temperature, drying, film thickness, and process repeatability. The scope of work covers a general system configuration, coating area, speed, and motion control, as well as a slot-die head, shim, and coating. The agency also requires ink delivery and pumping, substrate holding, heating, and drying, additional coating methods and accessories, software, documentation, and compliance. The selected vendor must handle installation, training, warranty, and support. Eligibility is restricted to onshore USA organizations only. The performance of the work will take place offsite. The agency is looking for proposals to determine the budget, and all questions must be submitted no later than June 3, 2026.
