Fire Extinguisher and Suppression Hood System

The City of Redding, California, is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive fire suppression hood and fire extinguisher services. The agency needs to ensure the safety and compliance of its facilities through regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and prompt repairs of its fire safety equipment. This initiative addresses the ongoing requirement for certified, fully operational safety systems across the agency's locations. The scope of work covers semi-annual inspections of suppression hoods and annual inspections of fire extinguishers, including updating the certification tag on each device. The selected contractor must perform troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, planned obsolescence replacement, and provide all parts required for service and repairs. Upon request, the contractor must also perform hydrostatic testing on fire extinguishers and medical oxygen tanks, and respond to urgent service requests on the same day. Bidders must perform all work offsite and must be located within the United States. The agency requires a minimum twelve-month warranty on all equipment, materials, supplies, and labor from the date of acceptance. Additionally, the contractor must pay labor at the current prevailing wage rates when required. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is currently seeking budget proposals to determine the cost of these services.
