Rainbird Trail Improvements Staircase and Viewing Platform Construction Service

The City of Ketchikan, Alaska is seeking a contractor to construct trail improvements on the Rainbird Trail. The project aims to restore the trail infrastructure by constructing two new wood-framed structures to improve safety and accessibility. The scope of work covers the construction of a new wood-framed staircase approximately fifty feet in length and a sixteen-foot by sixteen-foot viewing platform of post and beam construction. The selected contractor must perform sitework at both the stair and platform locations, including improvements to the transition areas in the immediate vicinity. This sitework includes clearing and grubbing for all footings and plinths to provide sufficient space for construction, preparing the subgrade as noted on the engineering plans, and constructing all associated timber structures. The agency requires all work to be performed offsite, and eligibility is restricted to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency is looking for budget proposals to determine the cost of the project. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on June 12, 2026, to discuss the project requirements. Bidders must submit all questions regarding the solicitation no later than June 16, 2026.
