Mobile Satellite Station Service

The South Carolina Emergency Management Division is seeking a vendor to provide a mobile satellite station service to the government authority located in Columbia, South Carolina. The agency requires a one-time purchase of a 1.2-meter Ku-Band mobile very small aperture terminal satellite antenna system, along with installation, testing, and training services. This portable flyaway satellite system must include the hardware, modems, and cables necessary to transmit and receive network data, and it will serve as the primary operational system installed on top of the Mobile Technology Center. The requested system must deliver a minimum bandwidth of 10 Mbps download and 4 Mbps upload while connecting to commercial Ku-band satellite coverage. The agency requires single-button auto-acquisition of the desired satellite and auto-point movement to acquire signals from any stationary vehicle position in a full 360-degree radius and 0 to 90-degree elevation. Additionally, the equipment must be rated to operate in winds of at least 40 miles per hour while anchored. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based solely in the United States. The performance of the work will take place offsite, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget.
