Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) Installation Service

The government authority in Corpus Christi, Texas is seeking a vendor to install an Automated Weather Observing System III. The agency requires a system equipped with an optional present weather sensor and thunder strike alert components to improve local weather monitoring. To ensure continuous operations during power outages, the agency needs a uninterruptible power supply to regulate power and provide a back-up source. The scope of work covers the complete installation of the system on a self-supporting tower, which includes site selection and site approval. The tower must be painted with a six-band marking featuring alternating bands of aviation surface orange on the top band and white. The system must have the capability to connect to a minimum of two phone lines and allow for the manual input of a voice message at the end of the computer-generated voice message. High-quality, computer-generated speech must be provided by the voice subsystem for the weather observations, local ground-air radio broadcasts, and telephone dial-up users. Eligible bidders must be onshore organizations based solely in the United States. The selected contractor must perform all work onsite in Corpus Christi. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget.
