Active Transportation Data Mapping Services

The San Mateo County Transit District in Redwood, California is seeking active transportation data mapping services to establish the base data set for an upcoming countywide bicycle and pedestrian plan update. The agency requires a contractor to lead data collection, mapping, and analysis efforts for existing public sidewalk and crosswalk facilities to create shareable maps and databases of existing conditions. The project also covers limited mapping of bicycle facilities and bicycle intersection treatments. The selected contractor must perform analyses and mapping of sidewalk facilities at a minimum at the street-side roadway segment level, ensuring each side of the roadway is evaluated independently. The agency requires the development of a comprehensive data collection, mapping, and quality assurance and quality control methodology. The contractor must deliver final GIS files in ESRI Shapefile and File Geodatabase formats, including all associated feature classes and attribute tables. The agency will provide feedback that may include additions or changes to accuracy standards, required attribute fields, naming conventions, and basemaps. Eligibility is limited to onshore organizations based in the United States, and the contractor will perform all work offsite. The contract period will span one year, and the agency is currently seeking budget proposals rather than specifying a set funding limit.
