Real-Time Location System

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a vendor to provide a real-time location system and fully restore the information technology infrastructure across its main hospital campus. The agency needs to resolve issues stemming from missing or damaged network devices that currently disrupt clinical operations, administrative functions, security systems, and enterprise network services. To solve this problem, the selected contractor must replace missing or damaged switches, access points, routers, firewalls, uninterruptible power supply devices, patch panels, and cabling components. The scope of work requires the installation of optics, patch cords, and cabling necessary to achieve full restoration of network paths. The contractor must load original equipment manufacturer-supported operating systems and firmware, and then apply agency-provided configurations, templates, virtual local area networks, routing, wireless profiles, and security baselines. Additionally, the project covers validating wireless provisioning, including service set identifier broadcasts, power over Ethernet allocation, and signal performance. The agency requires the identification of damaged cables, improperly terminated connections, and mislabeled ports, alongside the production of cable certification reports for all replaced cable runs. Only organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The performance of the requested work will take place offsite. The agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is currently looking for proposals to determine the cost.
