Intelligent Transportation System Device Maintenance

The Kansas Department of Transportation in Topeka, Kansas is seeking a vendor to provide intelligent transportation system device maintenance. The agency requires the development of an alternative database or work order system to track new work orders in an existing sortable format. This initiative aims to ensure the continuous operability, troubleshooting, and repair of the regional transportation communication and power infrastructure. The scope of work covers equipment, electronic, and electrical component replacement, as well as troubleshooting camera and telecommunication equipment. The selected vendor must perform emergency repairs and installation of fiber optic and twisted pair cable, verify communication system operability and power, and configure, replace, and install communication equipment. Additional tasks include troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and installing electronic and electrical components related to power, communication, and operation of the systems. The project also requires voltage checks, equipment repair, underground conduit repair and replacement, and the locating of power and communication cables. The vendor must repair and replace power and communications cables, re-erect knocked down cabinets and poles, and relocate or install new field devices. All performance of the work will take place offsite. Only onshore organizations based in the United States are eligible to bid on this opportunity. The agency is establishing a contract period of two years. While the agency has not disclosed a specific budget and is looking for proposals, all clarifying questions must be submitted no later than June 24, 2026.
