Emergency Power Systems

The City of Falls Church, Virginia, requires complete turnkey, fully functional, and code-compliant electrical and emergency power systems design, installation, upgrades, and replacement. The agency seeks to relocate existing electrical infrastructure onto a natural gas generator, which involves planning, design, and construction of the necessary electrical components. Additionally, the project requires planning, design, and construction services to reconfigure critical electrical components onto Uninterruptible Power Supply systems and backup generators. The scope of work covers the installation and replacement of fixed or portable gas, diesel engine-driven, or natural gas generator sets. This includes all subsystem components such as fuel systems consisting of day tanks, pipes, fuel gauges, low and high fuel switches, overflow alarms, and fuel tank or pipe pressure testing. The selected provider must also perform patching, waterproofing, repair, and fireproofing on any penetrations required to complete the work. Eligibility is limited to onshore organizations based in the United States. The agency requires the performance of the work to be offsite, meaning the selected provider must carry out the work in their own office location. The agency is currently looking for proposals to establish the budget for this project. The agency will host a virtual, non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting on June 16, 2026. Bidders must submit all questions regarding this opportunity no later than June 23, 2026.
